The Crew of '62: Outing, Saturday 15th June 2002
The third men had just bumped Kings III in Owen Bevan and so draped in foliage the boat arrived back for the crew of '62 to take her out for a spin. Rude as it may be we didn't expect much. When the current 1st men took 1 week off to row in 4s and then came back together the 8 fell apart was unbalanced and had problems covering for the first few minutes, so 40 years on how is an 8 going to perform? VERY WELL ACTUALLY!
Our doubts were proved very wrong. The crew of 62 made everyone on the bank including some university rowers outside grassy sit up and take notice. From the outside the boat appeared perfectly sat but much much more importantly it was covering well and moving quickly.
The crew of 1962 promised later that day to buy a pair/double for our club. This is fantastic news since it is key to our training camp at the beginning of next term. Thank you to the crew of '62 and may the spirit of '62 continue for a good long while yet. (see you all in ten years time for your golden jubilee).

MBC Members from 1973 to 1978 Reunion Outing: Saturday 24th September 2005
The crew arrived at the boathouse to a beautiful sunny day after many days of rain. After some brief introductions the crew got out onto the water. No-one knew how well the crew would do as some members had not sat in a boat for twenty years or more, however they surprised everyone. After a long gentle warm up the crew had a very long paddle, putting in as much distance as a senior college crew does on a double run. Not being content with the gentle paddle a request was made for both pressure 10s and a full bumps start! The start showed everyone in the boat (and those on the bank) that rowing cannot easily be forgotten as that boat flew out of the starting position.
